Watch: Roger Federer’s iconic one-handed backhand copied by top tennis stars featuring Jannik Sinner and Ons Jabeur

In the video, many ATP and WTA stars tried to replicate the iconic Roger Federer backhand. Some of the main stars in the video were Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz , Ons Jabeur, Beatriz Haddad-Maia, and more. While most of their tries were embarrassing, some players like Sebastian Korda, Fritz, and even Cameron Norrie came close to replicating it. 

While the players have been giving it their all on the court, they have also leveled up the entertaining part with some off-court performances as well. Some players like Ben Shelton have not even hit a one-handed backhand in their life and were shocked at his attempt. 

“Nah, I’ve never hit a one-hander in my life,” said Shelton as he claimed that he could hit better than Taylor Fritz, who on the other hand took the challenge and hit more consistent backhands as he had preached. Some friendly fire between the Americans, as they only made the video that much more fun. 

Inspired by Roger Federer, Stefanos Tsitsipas leads the tour as one of the cleanest one-handed backhand hitters

The era of the one-handed backhand seemed to have faded away with Roger Federer. The 20-time Singles Grand Slam winner arguably has one of the best ones in the game and remains unmatched by many. 

Currently, Stefanos Tsitsipas, who Federer inspired, has a one-handed backhand and plays it better than anyone. While Dominic Thiem and Chris Eubanks possess impressive backhands, it is Tsitsipas who currently boasts a remarkably strong one, particularly on clay surfaces. 

The world recently witnessed his one-handed backhand at the Mutua Madrid Open. Though he lost earlier than expected; it was still enough to show what the Greek was capable of with his backhand. However, there still is no backhand that measures to Federer’s and might never be.
